In the relatively short period of learning studio, there were a lot of ups and downs. We first felt the different habits of German students and ours, and then realize the respective cultural background, the background of city development and thinking method to each other, this is a very interesting experience. Some normal analysis method of techniques and ideas seems sophisticated to German students; while our German fellows had already familiar with basic analysis of economy and society and stakeholders. Which allows us to understand the deep meaning of city planning as a means of public policy.
During the two weeks in Germany, we traveled to several cities such as Berlin, ?Dusseldorf, Munich, Heidelberg and so on. We were astonished by their extreme preciseness of German people, this preciseness reflected in the attitude towards tradition, embodied in the humanistic care for every body, of course, also reflected in their industrial technology and the construction technology in city developing. The city's historical heritage has been properly preserved in German, German city planners and even ordinary people had achieved a consensus that heritage protection is important, not very high value remains, in our point of view, have been well preserved as a historical witness. This time I have profound experience to the city, that city renaissance by cultural means is not just a slogan. Roaming in most of the streets in Germany, because of the large amount of information that surroundings offered to you, you may feel like to pull out your cellphone to Google the background of them.
I'm very lucky to participate in the study of the city of Sino German joint design, the joint design will give me a long-term benefit and life-long memory.
